MATCH REPORT

Blackheath lost the toss and were put in to bat. A solid start was made by James Stevenson(21) and Paul Nash(18) who put on 39 for the first wicket giving the team a platform to build on. Blackheath were looking pretty good at 81 for 2, however, another terrible collapse occurred with Thames Dittion bowler, Singh, taking a hatrick(all bowled). Blackheath slumped to 85 for 5 and were in trouble. Mike O'Mahoney(71) and Dallas McDermott(17) put on 51 to take the score to 136 for 6 and there was now hope of a total of around 200. O'Mahony played another superb innings, showing the majority of Blackheath batsmen how to do it, making a classy 71 before being well caught on the straight boundary.

Tim Seebold(17) came in at number 8 due to another pulled groin(what was he up to the night before) and played well before being caught behind and WALKED. The umpire later stated in the bar that he would not have given him out, as he thought he had not hit it. Another collapse occurred and we were all out for 157.

Thames ditton's overseas player, SOLANKI, made 123no in a total of 160 and batted very well indeed. He was the difference between the sides and also took 4 wickets. The pick of the bowlers for Blackheath was Graham Webb who took 1 for 48 off 11 overs. The other bowlers did not bowl well enough and Thames Ditton cruised to victory after only 31 overs.
