The winning start to the season gains momentum with a comprehensive 6 wicket victory for this rapidly improving side. Once again El Capitano Pedros won the toss showing how good he is at that element of the game, and chose to field once more. After a solid start from the oppo against some steady spin bowling from BB, still recovering from the absent Adriana's stag do, Blackheath unleashed the Ginger destroyer. With an array of off-cutters, in-duckers, pee-shooters, glares, mumbles and glass shattering appeals, a swath of destruction was cut through the Merrow batting. With able support from the tearaway fast leftie MP, Blackheath managed to take wickets at regular intervals with PJH once again showing what a safe pair of hands he has fielding behind the wickets. The fielding was tight and enthusiastic like Adrian's fiancee, with balls rarely puncturing the inner ring of fielders. The appealing was loud and in the same vain as a South Korean crowd supporting their football team. In the end the tail was polished with help from a magic ball from MF that apparently swung about 9 feet into the batsman, pitched outside leg-stump and cut away to split the off-stump in two, with MP knocking over the castle of their token blind player the innings was closed at 149 all out. Set a getable but challenging total of 150, Blackheath never looked in any trouble with CR playing an enterprising innings of 67 not out, ably supported by KH, New Boy Russell, who looks a great prospect and the old skip himself with a responsible 20 odd not out to see Blackheath home with overs to spare. BRING EM ON. ALL OF THEM. ANYONE. ANY PLACE, ANY TIME.
