Thank Heavens For Denchy!!
Contributed by S.Horthair ([email protected]) on 11/09/00 17:50:50
The Sun in the heavens was beaming;
The Breeze bore an odour of hay,
My flannels were spotless and gleaming,
My heart was unclouded and gay;
The ladies all gaily apparelled,
Sat round looking on at the match,
In the tree-tops the dicky birds carolled,
All was peace 'till I bungled that catch!

Fortunately, the boy Dench caught Junior Maxwell
So in my case, all's well that ends well!

Good to see that poetry is still flourishin' at the old alma mater. In my day we had to compose it on bog walls, not on namby-pamby websites!
