I won't dwell on the result. Suffice to say that we came a very close second.
Excellent game of cricket, that was in the balance right upto the point when it was no longer in the balance.
Good individual performances especially from the returning Roger 'Cannon' Fodder with a majestic 55 filled with an array of beautifully struck staight, off/on and cover drives.
Mike had the champagne moment of the day when he got down on one knee, not what you think, and drilled their rather cocky fast bowler through the covers with exquisite timing and power for 4. Infact Mike looks to have found his spot batting at number 5 which will hopefully see him improve his average from last season.
Jem played the best innings of 4 anyone has ever seen this side of Chertsey and was very unlucky to be given out when he was bowled middle stump.
Our bowling lacked a bit of fire and the likes of CR, BB and MR need to come back into the side if we want to regularily give ourselves a chance of bowling sides out.
Great to see Colin P's young son Robert play. Has one of the best arms I've ever seen for a young cricketer and hopefully will play a few more games this season.
A game we could have decided to shut up shop in and settle for a draw, but I don't think that would be in the true Sunday II's spirit.
